flourish paediatrics
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
An interior health project, the existing condition was a Victorian shopfront in historic Clarendon Street. Molecule’s brief was to provide a clinic for a practising paediatrician comprising a reception area on arrival and an acoustically separate consulting room.
The design challenge was optimising the tight footprint and creating a calming interior that would be differentiated from typical, primary-coloured paediatric environments; our design response drew on a signature interest in architectural joinery (and ongoing exploration of materiality) to provide a thickened plywood cabinetry wall that defines the consulting room as a legible volume within the shopfront shell.
